When Demyx awoke, Xigbar wasn't beside him like he promised. Chester was tucked in Demyx's arms, and it appeared to be that he had been awake for awhile. Either that or Heartless were related to fish in their sleeping habits. Demyx remembered the things he and Xigbar did last night. In this moment of remembrance, he also recalled not putting his pajamas on before going back to sleep. Sleepily, he turned to face the other bed, where he saw Xigbar asleep. Demyx looked toward the couch to see if Zexion was still there. The couch was empty, though it looked as if Zexion had gotten rather lazy and forgot to make it. Might as well help him. I guess he got really hammered last night, Demyx thought. Though Demyx wasn't much for organizing things, he thought how happy he would be to see that Demyx had done something productive for once. Demyx first searched around in his suitcase, which had been carelessly tossed on the floor, probably with the things he and Xigbar had been doing last night. Nonetheless, he found them quickly and put them on before anyone awoke and saw him in the nude.
Demyx then started to walk slowly towards the couch, stretching and yawning as he went. He scooted the mahogany table in front of it out of the way so he could work better. He grabbed the lower left hand edge of the sheet and tucked it underneath the cushion. He did the same with all the edges and their corresponding cushions. He then grabbed the pillow, fluffed it a little, and put it back at the front end of the couch. He turned back to the table to pull it back to its original place when he noticed an extra body in Xigbar's bed. Quickly realizing it was Zexion, Demyx made a plethora of assumptions of what happened after he had gone to sleep. Demyx didn't know what to think about their sudden "relationship", but it made him rather infuriated, but also rather sad that all the things he had done the night before couldn't please Xigbar enough to where he would only have wanted to do that once. "Why?" Demyx whispered in his confusion.
This small noise was enough to wake Zexion. Upon hearing Demyx's word, he sprang up from the bed as if he had just had a nightmare. Though Demyx knew that couldn't happen. Zexion had told him before that "there is no worse nightmare than reality itself". Zexion didn't notice Demyx standing there staring at them at first, but when he did, he got pretty nervous. "Woah, Demyx! Don't scare me like that! What are you doing here? Why do you look so sad-" Zexion's voice trailed off as he looked beside him to see a wide-awake Xigbar staring at him suavely.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!!" Zexion screamed as he jumped away from the bed. "What are you... how did I... WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!" Zexion asked, infuriated.
Xigbar laughed. "Everything you wanted me to! Y'know, you're not that bad," Xigbar replied without a hint of shame. He didn't notice Demyx standing there, staring, about to burst into tears.
Upon hearing all those words, Demyx couldn't hold in his now present sadness any longer. He fled from the room, slamming the door shut behind him and running down the hall. Hot tears rolled quickly down Demyx's cheeks as he ran. He heard the door open. "Wait, Demyx! It's not like that!" he heard Xigbar say.
He didn't heed the things Xigbar had said and kept running. He turned the corner to get on the elevator when he ran face-first into something about as tall as he was. He got knocked back on the impact of hitting something solid at full speed. Demyx scratched his mullet and opened his eyes to see what or who he had hit. Axel stood there in his chakram-themed pajamas, trying to regain his balance. "What hit me?" he said, looking back.
"Sorry..." Demyx mumbled, trying to keep from crying aloud there on the floor.
"Demyx, are you ok? What happened? There's only been a few times I've seen you reduced to this," Axel said with concern, stooping down to Demyx's level.
"It's all their fault... it's all their fault... they shouldn't have done it..." Demyx sobbed quietly.
"It's all who's fault? What happened?" Axel repeated.
Demyx tried to regain himself long enough to tell Axel what happened. "You know how Xiggy likes me," Demyx sniffled. "We did it last night..." Demyx's voice trailed off in the memory.
Axel looked a bit confused by this. "But you two are ALWAYS doing it and it's never had this affect on you before."
"That's not all," Demyx sobbed. "When I woke up this morning, Zexy was there with Xiggy. I guess I'm not good enough for him anymore!"
Demyx buried his face in his hands and cried. "Hey, everything will be ok, Demyx. Who knows. There could just be a misunderstanding. But if it's not, I'll be happy to get back at him for you. Some chakraming should do the trick." Axel smiled slyly for a moment, but then resumed his concerned look. "In the meantime, just try not to think about it ok? You're always welcome to come have ice cream with me and Roxas this afternoon if you'd like."
Demyx sniffled a little, but then replied with, "Sure, I guess so... I don't have anything better to do. Thanks Axel."
"Anytime, Demyx. Anytime. Hey, why don't we go and get something to eat? I hear they have a free all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet!" Axel swooned.
"Let's go! I'm starving!" Demyx said, seeming to regain his happiness rather quickly.
Axel stood once more and offered a hand to Demyx. Demyx took his hand, and once he was up, they made their way to the buffet.

A few hours had passed and the Organization was back at the beach. Even Chester had tagged along, always present by his master's side. Upon arrival, the first thing Demyx did was throw down his stuff in one place near all the other Organization member's stuff, grab his surfboard, and run towards the ocean. Though he had been to the beach on many occasions, this was the first time he actually got to be there and was allowed to goof off. He paddled out in the ocean on top of his dark blue surfboard. Chester stared back at him with his big, golden Heartless eyes from his position at the head of the board. A wave was forming in the distance. This would be Demyx's big chance to surf like the people on TV. The wave got much bigger and drew nearer and nearer to Demyx, who was already out pretty far in the sea.
The water's flat surface quickly became inclined, and Demyx tried to stand on his surfboard. On his first try, he easily lost his footing, and slid back down into the water. He tried once more, and successfully managed to get atop the board. The wave carried him swiftly as he did surfing tricks he had picked up from TV. The ocean spray clung to his face as he hung ten, he shredded the inside of the wave and even went upside down in that manner with a little help from his control over water. He even did the "king of the world" move with Chester. As the wave was about to crash, he rode down the wave and came in smoothly to shore. Demyx hopped off his surfboard and ran towards the rest of the Organization. He left his surfboard with his stuff and looked for his goggles and flippers. He couldn't wait to see what there was under the sea.
He found the things he was looking for and started back towards the ocean. A hand grabbed Demyx's wrist. "Wait, Demyx! I need to explain what happened this morning," Xigbar pleaded.
"Hmph!" Demyx huffed.
He yanked his hand free of Xigbar's grip and continued running towards the ocean. Demyx pulled his goggles over his eyes and ran into the ocean. The coolness of the water soothed him. He ran in deeper and deeper until he was completely submerged in the water. It was calm under here, no worries, everything just being carefree. He swam along the bottom, swimming with the many fishes that crossed his path. A minute of this passed, but Demyx didn't need to go up for air. After all, he did control water, and in that, he had become very fish-like. He pretty much taught himself to breathe underwater, a feat he himself thought was pretty impressive. As he swam, feeling free of everything that had happened these last few days, he was completely unaware of a shark coming up behind him.
It swam slowly, fluidly, completely unseen to Demyx. It swam near him, around him, but not to a point where Demyx could see him. Demyx started following a school of fish that were headed in the opposite direction he was. When he turned, he saw the shark eyeing him, wanting to have a quick snack. Demyx turned away from it and swam as fast as he could towards the shore. Though he couldn't really remember which way that was. He swam up to the surface and looked around. To his right was where he had come from. He saw Xigbar looking towards him. Demyx ducked back beneath the waves. The shark was almost on top of him. He swam fast and got out of the way of the shark before it ate his leg off, but he didn't go unscathed. The shark's teeth had grazed him badly, and a long gash in his leg appeared as the water around him turned a hue of pinkish red. The area stung with the saltwater flowing into him.
With all his power and concentration, Demyx mustered up all the strength he had and willed the water to move him towards the shore. It did without any hesitation, moving Demyx forward in the water fast. A pinkish trail was left behind Demyx. About 100 meters from the shore, the loss of blood and the pain had begun to affect Demyx. He was very dizzy and very tired. Seeing he couldn't go any further, Demyx sank beneath the waves, ribbons of blood flowing around him as he sank deeper, deeper, deeper into the salty ocean. So calm, Demyx thought as he hit the bottom. A few fishes swam overhead, and a figure materialized out of the corner of Demyx's eye. It appeared to be moving toward him. It could've been the shark again, and this time, he wouldn't escape, but before he could come to a conclusion, everything went black.
The eighth installment of The Triangle. I decided to leave this one on a cliffhanger! Tune in for what Demyx's fate shall be!
